"The Color of Colors".

At Negre, design revolves around a fundamental principle: black is not the absence of color but the sum of them all. It is an infinite canvas, the backdrop that amplifies every hue, texture, and reflection. Here, black not only dominates but also breathes life into the space, serving as an absolute frame for the vibrant, warm tones of terracotta.

The sprayed concrete establishes a raw, tangible foundation where terracotta finds its place. Upon this base, black unfolds in a spectrum—matte, satin, glossy—each finish adding a unique nuance to the visual and tactile experience. This contrast accentuates the terracotta, which emerges as an earthy glow, charged with warmth and life, an echo of sunlit clay under the Mediterranean sky.

Carefully designed lighting accentuates this dialogue. Warm light beams bathe the terracotta, highlighting it as the beating heart within a sea of black shadows. Indirect light lines trace the walls, emphasizing their imperfections and revealing that even in darkness, there is depth and texture. Shadows, far from being voids, become an active element shaping the space—like brushstrokes defining a painting.

At Negre, black is the color that holds everything; it is the night that reveals the firmament. Terracotta, in contrast, is light, a connection to the earth, the whisper of humanity in a design that could be eternal. Together, these tones tell a story of dualities: warmth and coolness, the natural and the artificial, the visible and the invisible.

This restaurant is not just a space but a chromatic experience. At Negre, black does not overshadow—it amplifies. It is not an end but a beginning. It proves that contrast is the essence of design—a place where colors find their voice in the infinite depth of black. It is a space where opposites not only coexist but elevate one another, reminding us that even in the densest shadow, light always finds its way.
